1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, smartphone) by websites when you visit them. They serve to make the website functional, to improve its efficiency, or to provide information to the website operators.
A distinction is made between session cookies, which are automatically deleted when you close your browser, and persistent cookies, which remain stored on your device for a specified duration or until you delete them manually.
2. Legal Basis
The storage of cookies and the access to information on your device are governed by applicable cookie legislation, in particular the ePrivacy Directive (Directive 2002/58/EC, as amended) and its national implementations:
- Strictly necessary cookies: These may be set without consent, as they are strictly necessary for the provision of the service explicitly requested by the user.
- Non-essential cookies: These may only be set after the User’s express, informed consent.
The processing of personal data collected via cookies is carried out on the basis of Article 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent) or Article 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest) for strictly necessary cookies.

4. Cookie Banner and Consent Management
4.1 Consent Requirement
Non-essential cookies (marketing and advertising cookies) are only set after your express consent. Without your consent, the scripts for Google Pixel and Facebook Pixel are completely blocked and no data is transmitted to these services.
4.2 Design of the Cookie Banner
Our cookie banner is designed in line with European data protection guidance and best practices:
- The “Accept all” and “Reject all” buttons are designed with equal prominence (same size, colour and contrast)
- The “Reject” option is available on the first layer of the banner (not hidden behind a second layer)
- No dark patterns are used
- The waitlist sign-up form is fully accessible even if you reject all non-essential cookies (no cookie wall)
4.3 Rejection and X Button
Closing the cookie banner via the X button is treated as a rejection of all non-essential cookies. In this case, only strictly necessary cookies are set. This decision is stored for 6 months; the banner will not be displayed again within this period.
5. Managing Cookie Settings
5.1 Via Our Website
You can change your cookie settings at any time via the “Cookie Settings” link in the footer of every page on our website. This link is permanently available, regardless of your previous consent decision.
